NAUTILUS Floating Solutions has been awarded with a Phase 1 funding in the framework of the H2020 SME Instrument programme in order to explore and assess the technical feasibility and commercial potential of the NAUTILUS concept, an innovative semi-submergible floating platform for offshore wind energy.

The Project called “New Floating Platform for Offshore Wind in Deep Waters (FLOW)” has been one of the 175 funded proposals selected from the more than 2,057 initiatives submitted in the Nov 25th, 2015 Call. This ratio shows the difficulties of getting the funding and the quality of the NAUTILUS proposal.

This Support from the EU Research Programme will allow NAUTILUS to demonstrate the advantages of the NAUTILUS concept in order to compete for a Phase 2 in which up to EUR 2.5 million fund could be awarded to NAUTILUS to support the development of a 1:1 scale prototype.

Jesús M. Busturia, Managing Director of NAUTILUS Floating Solutions declared: “We are very happy with this acknowledgment from the EU funding programme. We are focused on developing our first 1:1 scale prototype and this support is very encouraging for the team.”
