There are limited places in shallow waters where you can develop fixed offshore wind farms. In Europe, part of the North Sea and the Baltic Sea are available, but the rest of the European coast, including Norway, part of the United Kingdom, part of France, Spain, Portugal and most of the Mediterranean Sea have deep waters very close to the coast, which makes very difficult the development of fixed offshore wind power.
Some floating offshore wind energy market predictions have been made, most of which agree on a consolidation of the market by the next decade and being probably Japan, France and US the largest markets.
