SEAPOWER PROJECT

GOALS

One of the differential factors defining the SEAPOWER project is that it is the first large scale collaboration project in the offshore wind power sector among the major Basque engineering firms and the leading manufacturers of structures and components. New technologies:

01.

Numerical and parameter modelling of wind turbine-structure assembly to determine assembly loads and performance under different loads.

02.

Development of smart fastening solutions and bolting strategies specifically designed for offshore high-power wind turbines.

03.

Design and development of an innovative rack & pinion lifting system specifically designed for offshore wind turbine towers, and the only feasible solution for floating wind turbines.

04.

New design of cost-optimised transition parts encompassing innovations in terms of electrical integration and installation processes.

05.

Development of a planning tool for offshore wind farms. Fixed solutions. Optimisation of fixed structure designs with solutions based on an integrated approach.

06.

Optimisation of design, manufacturing processes and logistics of large towers and monopole installations for high power systems.

07.

Research and development of new anti-impact and anti-biofouling coatings specially developed for offshore wind farms.

08.

Development of an electrical connection system providing significant cost savings in connection, preparation and testing of electrical evacuation cabling.

09.

Optimisation of fixed structure designs with solutions based on an integrated approach.

10.

Development of a digital twin for numerical model validation.

11.

Optimisation of floating substructure manufacturing processes using integration strategies.

PARTNERS

9 Basque companies have decided to join forces in the SEAPOWER project to co-ordinate and find synergies in the development of new offshore solutions. It is expected that the project will also contribute to improve the Basque industry positioning so that it not only works under external specification by third parties, but so that it can add more value through integrated designs of solutions that incorporate its own innovation.
